Cailie A. Currin, JD, and her staff of professionals have extensive and unique experience in insurance compliance, with an emphasis on product drafting, review and submission for state approval.
Cailie has been a New York State Insurance Department regulator, an in-house compliance attorney at a major life insurer, and a law firm partner where her practice focused exclusively on insurance compliance issues.
She and her staff provide quality services to the life insurance and annuity industry and assist life companies and other law firms on insurance regulatory issues.

Cailie A. Currin, JD, an attorney licensed in New York, has over 14 years experience in the life insurance industry. She began her insurance career as an attorney in the Life Bureau of the New York State Insurance Department, where she reviewed group and individual life insurance and annuity policy forms to determine compliance with New York law. As a supervisor at the Department, she was responsible for training new attorneys in all product areas. She was involved in working with the actuarial unit to develop Department positions on innovative products and difficult issues that arose in the life insurance industry. Cailie was very involved in the Department’s early speed-to-market efforts, helping the Life Bureau move from an approval process that literally took years to one that moved at a pace better suited to the modern financial services marketplace. While there is still much work to be done, Cailie was integral to the early efforts in this direction.
After leaving the Department, Cailie worked in private law practice as a principal in insurance regulatory practices, as well as a senior attorney in the compliance office of a major U.S. life insurance company, where she learned the life insurance industry from the company’s perspective.
Cailie brings to her consulting practice the personal experience of balancing the competing demands that face corporate compliance departments. She understands the importance of meeting deadlines for a product launch and the coordinated effort that takes within a company. She understands the pressure to be competitive and have innovative products in the market.
As a consultant, Cailie brings her experience as a regulator and an in-house compliance attorney to every project. She understands the needs of clients with products to sell, and she understands the regulatory concerns that may arise upon Department review.
Suzanne H. Seay brings her skill and attention to detail to each project she manages. She proofreads with precision and meticulous attention that goes a very long way toward assuring that filings to any agency are accepted without objections.
Kitty Cole directs our marketing communications with her expertise in design and data management. Her artistic flair and attention to detail make her a perfect fit to meet our creative and organizational needs.
Margaret P. Jones brings her unique skills and perseverance to Currin Compliance as director of special projects. Whether it is compiling and binding the materials for major compliance training sessions or coordinating conferences, Margaret’s ability to get the biggest projects done with an attention to detail and sense of humor helps get us through the highest pressure moments.
Sarah Huffer manages all of our administrative tasks with the utmost respect and professionalism. She is a calming force in our busy lives, while always focused on the details. You can count on Sarah to be prompt, efficient, dedicated, and extremely organized…we do!
