E-Day Season Arrives!

I know summer is really coming when AICP E-days start happening. Tomorrow, a few of us head to our first of the season: the New England Chapter E-day in Providence, RI. This event holds a special place in my career, as it was the first industry event I went to in (I think) 1995 when I was with the then NYS Insurance Department. I remember my first Regulator Roundtable well. I felt sure going in that I wouldn’t have anything to say, but found it so easy to talk to all the participants. A few, who had received objection letters from me, gave me a bit of a hard time, but that made it feel like a comfortable give and take. That experience made me appreciate AICP right from the beginning.

This year I am speaking on a panel, talking about Life and Health Market Conduct Exams. In AICP fashion, the panel includes 2 regulators, Kurt Swan from Connecticut and Chuck Vanasdalan from New Hampshire. Kathy Donovan from Wolters Kluwer rounds out our foursome. As always, I am sure to see longtime professional friends and acquaintances as well as meet new people.

Next up for us is the Heartland Chapter in Omaha, NE, then the Mid-Atlantic in Philadelphia, PA. We hope to see you there!
